TMR Ambassador Ed opened up and shared his 2014 goals with us in his latest Goal Setting Video and now it’s your turn!

Setting goals is an important step towards success and is a great way to track your progress. Not sure where to start? Try our Goal Setting Worksheet.

Widely adopted and highly recommended, this sheet outlines SMART Goal Setting.

Five Elements of Smart Goal Setting

S– Specific – Being specific makes all the difference when it comes to goal setting. Start with the 5 ‘W’ questions (Who, What, When, Why, Where) and you’ve got the outline for your SMART Goal!

M– Measurable – Create criteria for your goal, this way you will be able to track your results and success. If your goal is not measurable, odds are you will never experience a real sense of achievement and will lack motivation to keep going.

A– Attainable –  Goals should be attainable and more importantly, they should be something meaningful to you!

Once source notes that:   When you identify goals that are most important to you, you begin to figure out ways you can make them come true. You develop the attitudes, abilities, skills, and financial capacity to reach them. You begin seeing previously overlooked opportunities to bring yourself closer to the achievement of your goals.

R– Realistic – You want to set a goal for yourself that you are willing and able to achieve. You can have high goals that are realistic, but only you can decide how far you can push yourself!

T- Timely – Make sure to give yourself some time lines. ‘Someday’ just won’t cut it! T can also stand for Tangible – A goal is tangible when you can experience it with one of the senses, that is, taste, touch, smell, sight or hearing.
